Anthony Bourdain Visits Spice Market

No, not our spice market-not YET anyway. We're waiting for you, Tony!

This week on Portland's favorite show, "No Reservations," Anthony Bourdain visits Cairo, Egypt and stops at a beautiful, traditional spice market where they discuss the importance of the history of spice. It's amazing to think the things we take for granted everyday-say, salt & pepper-oh, I don't know... shaped the entire face of the modern world! And while the spice trade took longer than the Internet for it's influence to be felt- it's certainly more delicious!

plan to dominate the world with flavor!

Next-We have many new arrivals on our shelves-including Ceylon Cinnamon,
Thai Long Pepper, Smoked Peppercorns (tastes like very good peppercorns who
died and went to peppercorn heaven), Wasabi Powder, and Szechuan Peppercorns.
We have also created some new blends-a 'Nantucket Bucket' blend for summer clam/crab/shrimp boils, South American Chimichurri Steak Rub, Tandoori Masala, and
Chinese 5 Spice.

Last, but not least-If you are in the Portland area, join us for Alberta
Street's Last Thursday Art Walk (6-10pm).
We will have live music celebrating the traditional music of Zimbabwe
with Njuzo Mbira.
As always, we will be serving up our spicy chai, iced teas and adding
mango lassis for the evening.
